Horses for Sale

Sonesta Farms currently offers the following quality horses for your consideration:

We would like to congratulate Brooke Brownlow of San Antonio, Texas, on the purchase of this wonderful horse.  Look for Whiskey to take Brooke from the Level 4 jumpers all the way to the Grand Prixs someday!  We plan to  be at the Pin Oak show this year to cheer them on.

The Irish Dancer - One of my best homebreds, "Whiskey" is a 1997 Irish Sport Horse gelding by The Irish Rover and out of Illusive Dancer.  He has been winning in the "A" show jumpers since he was 4 years old. Competing in 2004 in Level 7 & 8 jumpers and is ready to move up to Grand Prix.  He is very sound and uncomplicated to ride.  Very honest and dependable. Suitable for an amateur or junior  and perfect for a pro wanting a top Grand Prix prospect. And, he can also compete wonderfully in the working hunters!  What a combination!  This horse is truly a gem.  Only being sold to  help get my breeding name out there and he deserves to be in the BIG leagues, where I can't afford to send him. See video clip of the 2002 Pin Oak Young Jumper Challenge. He was only 5 and was double clear.  Call to discuss price.

Dreamstreet - 2000 Hanoverian mare.  Dream is an incredible mare showing real talent for dressage and surprising talent as a hunter. Very sweet and completely suitable for an amateur or junior, Dreamstreet is 16.3 hands tall and is a dark blackish seal brown.  Very classic lines and elegant movement with a perfect form over fences and lovely big lofty movement for dressage, she is for the discriminating rider who appreciates quality.  Sired by Diamont, an elite Hanoverian stallion and out of the imported Hanoverian mare, Wallstreet, by Waldhorn, she also carries Grande blood on the bottom side. She won her 2 year old in hand class at Cedar Trace Sporthorse Festival to qualify for the USDF Young Horse Championships. Dreamsteet is in the Main Mare Book of the American Hanoverian Society. She will make a fabulous breeding mare after her show career - or use her during her career for embryo transfer to make sure you can get foals from her while she competes. See jumping video clip of her after only 2 months over fences. See dressage video clip. $25,000 [sale pending]

Farrah - 2002 gray Oldenburg mare by Frohwind out of a TB mare. Frohwind is a 5-star stallion and is one of the country's top producers of competition horses. This mare is absolutely stunning and a joy to ride.  She is light, forward, willing and loves people.  Never lays on your hand and responds instantly to your leg, here is a warmblood that is not difficult to put together for dressage. She has had two years of professional dressage training and is showing First Level - ready to start Second Level.. For a lark (and after only two weeks of training over fences!) she was taken to an "A" hunter show where she was champion in two divisions!!!  No one could believe she had just started jumping. She really seems to enjoy it and could make a really fancy hunter.  If you are looking for something really special to show, you just MUST see this girl. Currently priced at $18,000   See a short video clip of her first dressage show.  See youtube video of her first hunter show at http://youtube.com/watch?v=gGfvnNBRXFw

Fillistern - 2001 Dark bay Hanoverian mare by Feiner Stern and out of Wallstreet. Feiner Stern is generally regarded in Germany as one of the century's top producer of broodmares, with many of the most successful dressage stars and breeding stallions coming out of his daughter.  These mare are highly prized and very seldom offered for sale. Now you can have your own.  Filli's dam was imported from Germany where she was a show jumper.  Filli is 16.2 hands tall and has already produced a premium foal by Routinier that tied for champion of his foal inpsection. This mare is so sweet and gentle.  She rides beautifully with smooth gates and real impulsion.  She is in the main mare books of both the American Hanoverian Society and the Oldenburg Verband.  Filli would be a lovely dressage horse or could excel in the hunter ring with her smooth flowing gaits and calm manner.  At just 60 days under saddle she was already willingly giving flying lead changes!  Priced currently at $30,000, her price WILL go up as she enters the show ring this year.  See video clip.

Standing at 15.2 hands, she has the build and temperament to excel in dressage, show jumping or eventing She has been started under saddle and is doing great. BF IMPERIAL FYRE - A stunning son of Fyre One (*Aladdinn x Fyre Love x *Bask) out of Saturns Diamond (Imperial Saturn x Diamond Facets x Diamond Padron). This gorgeous blood bay  is winning on the line in halter and is showing great promise in his under saddle work with trainer, Dan McNair. A full, true 15.3 hands tall and growing, with lovely conformation, perfect head and neck, good legs and exquisite movement, he has tons of presence. The legendary Arabian trainer, Rhita McNair, says he is a "true star of the future."

His pedigree is impeccable. His sire, Fyre One was by *Aladdinn, the leading living Polish sire of champions, with 269 champions and 64 National winners through 1998. Fyre One's dam was none other than Fyre-Love, who stands in the record books as selling for $1.5 million in the Bask Classic Sale in 1985 - the second highest price EVER PAID for an Arabian mare at public auction. Fyre-Love's dam was the legendary *Bask, who was, quite simply, the most influential and widely recognized Arabian horse of the 20th century. BF Imperial Fyre's dam, Saturns Diamond, is by the multi-champion Egyptian stallion, Imperial Saturn, who continues to win in all areas of performance including dressage, hunter, side-saddle and Country English Pleasure - as well as halter. He is a full brother to BF Imperial Fyre. He is a very solid and correct colt with a bright future ahead as in the show ring and as a sire. He had really good bone and lovely movement. I see him in the dressage ring and siring GOOD sport horses. This is a TOP QUALITY stallion prospect. Sweepstakes nominated.

This horse is no longer for sale. We have decided to keep him to show and breed!

BF Jet Fyre - 2003 black Arabian gelding by Fyre One and out of Darq Velvet.  has extraordinary bloodlines.  His sire is by the legendary *Aladdinn and out of a champion *Bask daughter. His dam is a Darq Ali daughter carrying the bloodlines of Darq, Raffon, Alaa El Din and *Ansata El Masri.  So, this colt carries the best in Polish and Egyptian bloodlines.  A full 15.1 hands at 3 years old, he should finish an inch or so taller. Although he has not yet been bred, Jet is very well started under saddle and shows exceptional movement and talent for dressage or hunter pleasure.  Might also make a Western Pleasure mount.  He is very easy to train and have around.  Great ground manners. He was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, clips, loads and stands for the farrier. Jet is sweepstakes nominated, so could make you some money in the Arabian show ring. Castanet - 2000 chestnut ISR/Oldenburg NA filly by Cabaret  and out of Drifter. This lovely loud sabino colored filly is just a love to ride and be around. She can be ridden on trail rides, you can open and close gates from her back, etc. At four she stands 15.3+ hands and should mature to 16.1 hands. No vices at all, this one is very special and will be your best friend. She is one of the late, great Cabaret’s last foals before he died. Huge congratulations to Ellen Susman of Houston, Texas, on the purchase of this fabulous stallion prospect.  He will be staying here at Sonesta Farms until he is ready to start under saddle and prepare for his 100 day stallion testing.  We couldn't be happier.

Macarns Axxion - Loud bay leopard 2004 Registered Knabstrupper colt by Apollon out of Gypsy Queen.  Awarded a Gold Premium at his foal inspection by German RPSI inspectors, this one is very special indeed.  German inspector stated at his inspection that "This colt is as nice as ANY I have ever seen, whether in the U.S. or in Germany."  Almost 15 hands tall at 14 months old, he should mature to over 16.2 hands.  He moves like a dream and is very easy to handle. We are just delighted to announce the sale of this very special mare to Monet Saxton here in Cypress, Texas.  Monet will show her in the hunters for a few years and then in the jumpers and, best of all, she will be local so we can watch her progress!

Inkka is a wonderful black/gray 2001 Oldenburg filly by the Oldenburg stallion, Ideal. She is out of our black Oldenburg mare, Winter Eclipse. She is a sweetheart, with wonderful conformation and movement. She is registered with the Oldenburg Verband. She should make an excellent amateur or junior’s horse for dressage, jumping or eventing. At three she already stands 16.3 hands. She was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, loads and stands for the farrier.  She has five months professional training and is well started under saddle. Very calm and easy with huge movement.  See a short video clip (be patient while it downloads).

Congratulations Katerina Hedlova of Austin on her purchase of this darling gelding. Look for them in the jumper ring in a couple more years.

Macarns Chocolate Mist - 2004 dark bay registered and branded Knabstrupper gelding by Apollon out of Miracle in the Mist.  This boy is large boned and moves very well.  He is easy and fun to be around.  Ready to start under saddle and could make either a dressage horse or a very nice hunter.  But he forgot his spots!  Now is your chance to have a really nice registered warmblood gelding for a truly remarkably low price for his quality.  See video clip of this nice boy here.

Woo-hoo!  We are so happy to announce the sale of this special boy to Diane Jones, a Sonesta Farms dressage student who plans to show him in open dressage and in the Arabian Sporthorse classes. They should make a lovely pair!

BF Majik Fyre - 2002 gray Arabian gelding by Fyre One out of Bold Narkise. This gelding is full sister to our BF Moonfyre who is performing fabulously in dressage.  This boy is already 15 hands at 2 years old and should mature to about 15.2 hands.  He is sweet and loving and has incredibly floating movement.  He is sweepstakes nominated, so could win you some money in the Arabian shows.  His dam was a dressage and eventing horse, so this guy should be a good one for the Arabian sporthorse shows or could do the open stuff and compete well against warmbloods.  See short video clip here.

Another big congratulations to FEI dressage trainer, Mary Claeys of Cleburne, Texas, on her purchase of this cutie pie.

Gala Event - 2004 chestnut Hanoverian filly by the Elite Hanoverian stallion, Golfball (Grenadier/Lachs/LdB Marcio xx) out of the Hanoverian mare, Taenzerin (Trapper/Kurier/Marmor).  You don't get better old Hanoverian dressage lines than these.  Gala floats over the ground and is very sweet in her temperament.  She was champion foal at her Hanoverian foal inspection. The German Hanoverian breeding directors have been encouraging breeders to go back to the old lines, especially the "G" lines, to make sure we maintain the good canter and temperaments of the Hanoverian horses.  Gala is a tribute to this breeding. She should be a lovely show horse and then be the foundation for a breeding program using her with the modern Hanoverian "R", "S" and "D" lines. Should mature to about 16.2 hands.  See short video clip at 9 months. $12,000.

Congratulations to Mary Claeys of Cleburne, Texas, on the purchase of Wisdom.  Mary is an FEI dressage trainer and is looking forward to starting this girl under saddle.

Wisdom RF - 2003 dark bay Hanoverian filly by Stonecrop Farms' imported Hanoverian stallion, Wildcard (Western Star/Picard/Winkel) out of Apogee (Arrian/Aarking xx/Espri).  Lovely movement - was bred for dressage, but could easily do the hunters!  Sweet and well handled, she will be quite tall (should mature to about 16.3 hands).  See short video clip of her at 22 months.

We are pleased to announce the sale of this wonderful young stallion to Susan Herbert-Truskowsky of Moatsville, West Virginia.  He will stand at stud at her T-Square Appaloosas farm. Contact Susan at ttruskow@starband.net for more info.

Waps Moonshine -  2003 black based, blue roan snow cap colt by the famous Appaloosa Sport Horse stallion, Wapspotted.  We bought his dam in foal to add to our Knabstrupper breeding program and were hoping for a filly colored JUST like this.  He is already 16.1 hands at 3 years old and his snow cap coloring means that he should always produce the appy coloring, even when bred to solid colored mares. Wapspotted offspring of this quality are just NEVER offered for sale, so jump on this opportunity to own a stallion quality Appaloosa sport horse colt to breed and/or show.  He has begun his saddle training and is doing well.  He has also been trained to collect on a dummy mare and his first foal crop is due in spring of 2007.  All three mares got pregnant on only one breeding!  See short video clip. $10,000

We are just thrilled to announce the sale of this wonderful boy to Stacy Munoz of Houston, Texas, one of our students and friends, who will keep him here with us!  Look for them in a couple of months in the dressage and Arabian shows!

BF Fyrepower - Want to go to the Arabian Sporthorse Nationals someday?  Here's your boy. Power is a 2000 black (in the photos he's bleached by the Texas sun, but we PROMISE and guarantee that he is black) purebred Arabian sport horse by Fyre One out of Darq Velvet.  He is Sweepstakes nominated,  is 15.3 hands tall and has fabulous movement.  He is very well started under saddle and scored 69.048 on his first dressage test at an open dressage schooling show - shaming some warmbloods!  He is very sweet and willing and just loves to work.  What a dream horse he is! You should not miss him.  See short video clip.

We'd like to congratulation Dr. Ellen Zeimer of Rougemont Sporthorses in Bahama, North Carolina on the purchase of this lovely mare.

Winter Eclipse is a 16 hand, 1991 true black Oldenburg mare approved for breeding by the Oldenburg Verband and the International Sporthorse Registry/Oldenburg North America. Her sire, Wallenstein, is a grand prix show jumper. Other impressive bloodlines are those of Winchester, Canadian International team captain, Ian Miller’s show jumper in international competition, Pik Konig and Pik As, important German sires of both dressage horses and jumpers. She has produced three gorgeous black foals (see Inkka above and Pilar below). She has good bone and very good conformation. A hock injury ended her performance career as a junior’s eventing horse, but she is sound for light riding and loves the trails. She is open, but could be sold with a breeding back to the Oldenburg stallion, Manhattan.

We are very happy to announce that Dolly has been purchased by a sport pony breeder in Canada. She know she will love the cooler weather in Canada!

BF Fyres Satin Doll – This little girl already has quite a fan club. She was born live on the internet after keeping her fans in suspense for over 3 weeks as we waited for her birth. An immediate favorite, this black filly by Fyre One (*Aladdinn x Fyre Love x *Bask) has the most wonderful face, loving personality and breathtaking movement. Her dam, Darq Velvet (Darq Ali x Bint Saimasa x El Farazdac), has already produced two stallion candidate sons by Fyre One - one that is winning already on the line at halter in both open and amateur to handle classes.  She is sweepstakes and futurities nominated. This filly was the survivor of twins and is quite small. She is just a hair over 13.1 hands and would be the perfect mount for a child.

We would like to congratulation Beth Jones of Alabama on the purchase of this awesome filly.

Corona Noir - What a looker she is!  Kona is by the Holsteiner stallion, Cor Noir, and out of our pinto wb mare, Drifter.  She is (to our knowledge) the ONLY pinto warmblood foal Cor Noir ever had.  She is a gorgeous 2004 bay and white pinto filly that will be registered with the Oldenburg Verband.  She is very sweet, correct in her conformation and with stunning movement.  Her canter is so balanced already!  She was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, loads and stands for the farrier.  She should mature to about 16.2 hands and should be suitable for dressage, jumping or eventing.  You will definitely be noticed in the ring on this girl! See short video clip

Congratulations to Vicki Chritton-Myers of West Plains, Missouri, on the purchase of this mare.  Look for them in the Arabian show ring!

BF FyresSirenSong - 2000 black (no white) Polish/Egyptian Arabian filly by Fyre One (*Aladdinn x Fyre Love x *Bask) and out of MB Satira (Imperial Saturn x Samira x Dalul). What a glorious mixture of pure Polish and straight Egyptian! This filly carries the best of the bloodlines from both. With close up *Aladdinn, *Bask, Imperial Staturn, *Morafic and Ansata Ibn Halima, what more could you ask for a top show prospect or brood mare? She has an exotic head and long, hooky neck and is sweepstakes and futurities nominated .  Update:  Siren is a lovely, sweet filly that learns quickly and will definitely win for you in western pleasure and/or hunter under saddle. She was started under saddle by a 17 year old girl who, after only 90 days riding, took her to a big futurity show where she was high point horse both days of the show, and was UNDEFEATED in hunter under saddle. In those two shows, she showed in western pleasure, hunter under saddle, halter, showmanship at halter and trail class. She was just perfect! What a show horse this will be! Here are two video clips from the show. The first one is just trot and canter  and the second one is of her in the trail class.  (these are big files, so allow a bit of time to download).

We are delighted to announce the sale of this awesome young horse to Julie Wint of Gardner, Kansas. He will be a hunter prospect for the "A" shows.  We know he will do us proud.

Maxximus is a 2002 bay (turning gray) colt by the Oldenburg stallion, Mannhattan out of Illusive Dancer, one of our best producing broodmares. His mother was a top hunter mare and his sire has produced numerous winning hunters. He is registered with ISR/Oldenburg NA and has just perfect hunter movement.  I have been told that he is EXACTLY what the judges are looking for in today's "A" show hunter ring.  He is puppy dog gentle and easy to handle. He was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, loads and stands quietly for the farrier.

Sonesta Farms is very happy to announce the sale of this lovely filly to our neighbor, riding student and friend, Dr. Jennifer Williams.  Look for them in a few years in the dressage ring!

Donna Castagnia
is a gorgeous 2002 liver chestnut Oldenburg filly by Donnerwelt (Donnerhall/World Cup I/Bolero) and out of Dia Castagnia (Diamont/Liebjager/Kassio). You could not ask for better dressage bloodlines and she moves like an angel. She should mature to a bit over 17 hands and is registered with the Oldenburg Verband. She was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, loads and stands quietly for the farrier.

Landomir is a 2002 bay Hanoverian colt by Landkönig and out of our lovely Quick Northern, a TB mare approved and performance-tested by the American Hanoverian Society. He carries the regular Hanoverian brand, not a pre-stud book brand. His sire, Landkonig, is a top producer of show jumpers in Europe. In the 2002 Hanoverian Elite Auction in Germany, a Landkonig colt, Latimus, was the highest selling horse out of 141horses presented. He sold for a whopping $215,000! The next highest horse sold was $110,000 (a dressage horse) and the next highest jumper sold for $50,000! This guy is bred for jumping and should mature close to 17 hands. From the first day he was turned out at 12 hours old, he was jumping things for fun! He should be just awesome in the show ring. He was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, loads and stands quietly for the farrier.

Sonesta Farms is delighted to announce the sale of this wonderful filly to Teri Luneak of Oxford, Michigan. Teri learned of this filly from her friend, Cheryl, who had recently purchased our Feiner Stern colt, Feiner Still! So, the two youngsters will be neighbors!

She is a darling to handle and already leads, ties, bathes, loads and stands for the farrier! “Singer” should mature to over 16.2 hands. Wap’s Neon Moon is a 2002 gorgeous black and white snowcap Appaloosa colt by the well-known Appaloosa sport horse, Wap Spotted. His grandsire is Wap Spot 2, perhaps the top producing Appaloosa sport horse stallion of all time. His dam is a very nice snowcap Appaloosa mare that was a successful endurance horse. Neon should mature to well over 16 hands and should be an awesome dressage, showjumping or eventing prospect. And what a stallion he will be! Jump on this opportunity, because you just never see Wap Spotted babies for sale and certainly not with this color. The ONLY reason he is for sale is because we were hoping for a filly to add to the Knabstrupper program!

Sonesta Farms is delighted to announce the sale of this lovely mare to Sheri and Arthur Heffelfinger of Clancy, Montana.

BF Valentine Fyre - "Tina" is a lovely black 1997 filly by Fyre One out of a gorgeous Bold Sundancer daughter. She has a large white blaze. Awesome movement, perfect conformation and a kind personality makes her an excellent prospect for show or breeding. She was imprinted at birth and has all her basic ground training. She has been well started under saddle and has begun training over fences, where, like her dam, she excels. She is suitable for a junior or amateur. News Flash: BF Valentine Fyre just took excellent ribbons in her first hunter over fences show! She took 2 second place and 1 third place over fences and second in the flat class! See her glorious ancestors, *Aladdin & *Bask.

Sonesta Farms would like to congratulate Linda McCarthy of sunny California on the purchase of this gorgeous horse. Look for Farli in the Arabian Nationals in dressage.

He is a true black with star, snip and two white socks. He is already over 15 hands at barely 3 years old and should mature to 15.3 hands. He should make a wonderful show horse. His movement is suitable for dressage, hunter, Country English pleasure and show hack. He was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, clips and loads quietly. He was professionally started under saddle by Dan McNair of McNair Internationale.

Pilar - 2000 gorgeous black Oldenburg filly with large blaze and 4 perfect white stockings. Sired by elite Hanoverian stallion, Pointmaker. Dam is our black imported Oldenburg mare, Winter Eclipse. This filly should be a dressage machine and she is definitely going to catch the judge's eye. Her dam was an athletic jumper, so she could do well in show jumping, too. She should mature to about 16.1 hands.

Sonesta Farms would like to congratulate Nan Cunningham of Dallas, Texas, on the purchase of this special guy. We know they are going to make a great eventing team!

He is by our own Fyre One and out of our mare, Drifter. He is straight, well-built and knows how special he is. He should mature to at least 16.1 hands and will be stunning in the dressage ring or at Arabian breed shows Mickey was imprinted at birth and leads, ties, bathes, clips and loads quietly. BF Darq Fyre - He was born on February 4, 1999. This lovely Polish/Egyptian Arabian colt will probably be black. He has a star and diagonal white socks. His sire is our own Fyre One. His dam is our Darq Velvet. His wonderful short coupled back and very long legs combined with his beautiful head make him a likely stallion prospect. He is Sweepstakes & Futurities nominated.
